fun, nice gameplay but not all that much content
Outside of its smooth, superior graphics, this game could fit right in alongside Super Contra as an old school 2d scroller. The game is simple and to the point, and in the end, your success will come down to your mastery of the relatively simple controls. I’d say this game gave me $4.99 worth of entertainment. I probably have played about 4 hours so far, and I doubt I’ll play more than another hour or two.
You’ll get more time out of the game if you’re into not just trying to beat the game but trying to achieve a 3 star rating on all levels, which you can do by completing the level within a certain amount of time while collecting all the coins (which have no value other than that they improve your star rating).
Pros:
The graphics are cool and smooth. The gameplay is simple but fun with creative ways of attacking and solid though not perfect controls.
Cons:
Not much variety in enemies. No character or equipment changes. Not much story. Not a huge amount of overall content.
never say never again about Shadow Blade
